Mike Payette heading to Geordie Productions
It is with tremendous pride and more than a little sadness that I welcome the news that my dear friend and fellow Tableau D’Hôte Theatre co-founder Mike Payette has been appointed the artistic directorship of the world-renowned Geordie Productions.
His genius, vision and imagination will be sorely missed, though I remain committed to the mandate and mission Mike and I gave the company eleven years ago when we founded it as freshmen at Concordia University.
Mike will remain artistically involved in our 2016-2017 season, which will be unveiled at the joint Professional Independent English Theatre launch in March. Tableau D’Hôte Theatre will naturally undergo some restructuring as I prepare for the next stage in the company’s history, details of which will be released in the coming months.
Tableau D’Hôte’s latest production, Another Home Invasion, directed by Mike will be his last as Artistic Director of the company. It runs March 9th through the 26th at the MAI (Montréal, arts interculturels). I hope you can join us to congratulate him and celebrate new beginnings, friendship, and unflinching creativity.
